Our gorgeous lipped beauty from Vision LA, Lindsay Wixson (who is 15 and 5'11), was in NYC two weeks ago shooting an editorial with Mr. Miesel for Vogue Italia with the sexpots, Karlie & Jac! I have never seen anything like this before. Miesel picks a girl, who is with an LA agency to be in the sexy glossy?! Apparently, before this Lindsay went to IMG, but they didn't want her. Foolish of me when I realized that this Gucci Campaign that all the Fashion Industry was buzzing about turned out to be Gucci Pre-Fall 09-10 Campaign. Vey. Don't tell anyone because this is just a mess. I felt a bit annoyed that I was hoodwinked like this. This was just as bad as trying to tell people that Dolce & Gabbana and D&G are two different companies, they are like Roberto Cavalli and Just Cavalli. Vey. If you look up the words "excessive" or "acidic" in the dictionary of 20th-century cinema, chances are you'd find a still from George Cukor's 1939 film The Women next to the definitions. Starring Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford, and Rosalind Russell, the iconic movie followed a trio of impeccably dressed, incredibly rich, and ultimately bored women as they struggled through relationships and multiple costume changes. So it was fitting for Argentine director and photographer Sebastian Faena to revisit the film (after shooting The Eyes of Laura Mars in V52 and Splash in V53) for the next issue, casting Lily Donaldson, Jessica Stam, Hilary Rhoda, and Guinevere van Seenus as those infamously temperamental characters. Add some of Fall's most over-the-top clothes and you've got yourself some bonafide silver-screen moments. Coming soon.

So I was surprised when I found out that they are creating a pop-up store for three months starting in September in the lovely Tokyo! (Saving pennies now!) They will be offering six designer bags from Rei Kawakubo (of Comme) using the Vuitton signature pattern. Kawakubo approached Vuitton with the idea, and the heads of Vuitton were thrilled! According to the chief executive of Vuitton, Yves Carcelle, this would be a splendid way to celebrate LV's 30th anniversary in Japan. Apparently, Marc Jacobs is exciting about this partnership, saying "I find it wonderful to think that 30 years ago, this immense talent, someone who has inspired so many others, was inspired by Louis Vuitton." Well, if you can't afford Tokyo, then you can definitely afford Commes when they "comme" to H&M in November (I know that was a tacky joke).

Tres Magnifique Dominique!

Well, I first noticed Dominique Hollington, the New York stunner with the exotic features (I noticed that they say that about all ethnic models). He is with Red Model Management, one of the newcomers of the fashion industry, and they are using the race card, and adding more ethnicity in their agencies (hello Supreme, and IMG, and take a page from Red). I initially didn't care for Dominique, because he looked really regular and looked like he couldn't model a brown potato sack. But as the weeks passed, and I saw more of his tests, I am pleasantly surprised! The big shocker was Dominique's invite to be in the Givenchy show in Paris (which is a humongous and pleasant surprise). I see the fashion industry is finally seeing color. But, anywho, I am pretty thrilled with Dominque, I don't know if he is going to get a campaign in the coming season, but with the industry sudden gravitation towards color, I wouldn't be surprised. I mean look @ Armani, Yves St. Laurent, and Givenchy (with my favorite Indian model, Lakshmi!). Congrats Dominique!

Love meant everything to her. Supermodel Ruslana Korshunova poured her heart out on the Web in the months leading to her apparent suicide.
“Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably,” the sandy-haired knockout wrote in a poem that concluded: “And never regret anything that made you smile.”
The Kazakh beauty wrote that love “blinds,” “sets souls afire,” and “is always the answer” in emotion-soaked passages posted on a social networking site.
Korshunova volleyed between Russian and English in her heartfelt prose, but love was a central theme no matter the language. “Do not confuse love and desire,” she wrote in Russian in her most recent posting May 30. “Love is the sun, desire - only flash. Desire dazzles, and the sun gives life.”
The soulful note warns of the perils of sacrifice.

“Love does not take away from one in order to give to another,” wrote Korshunova, a 20-year-old thousands of miles from her native Kazakhstan. “Love - this is the essence of life. But you will not give your life to another.”

Korshunova’s most telling message came three months ago: “I’m so lost. Will I ever find myself?”

She appeared angry in some postings, brokenhearted in others.

“I’m a bitch. I’m a witch. I don’t care what you say!!!” she wrote March 11. “I know what it is. I know why my other relationships didn’t work out, ’cause I’m unpredictable. Why are you afraid of it?”

In January, she wrote, “It hurts, as if someone took a part of me, tore it out, mercilessly stomped all over and threw it out.

“My dream is to fly. Oh, my rainbow it is too high,” she wrote in a March note.

Stunning Kazakh fashion model Ruslana Korshunova plunged to her death from the ninth floor of her lower Manhattan building yesterday (Saturday) in an apparent suicide, police sources and neighbors said.
Ruslana, 20, a long-haired lovely who once graced the cover of Russian Vogue, plummeted onto busy Water St. in the Financial District around 2:30 p.m., according to sources and building residents.
“There’s no way she would have killed herself,” said her crying friend, Kira Titeneva. “She loved life so much.”
Witnesses to Korshunova’s deadly spill had no idea that the stunner - shoeless and dressed in blue jeans and a purple tank top - was a famous model but noticed her beauty right away.
“All I saw was something moving out of the corner of my eye, and then boom,” said Steve Metzger, 36. “It sounded like a bass drum when she hit the ground.
“She was a pretty girl.”
Police said her family had not yet been notified.
“She was my best friend,” Titeneva said. “I talked to her [Friday] night and we were talking all the gossip.”
Investigators said there were no signs of a struggle inside Korshunova’s apartment and believe she jumped from her balcony, which is next to a skyscraper construction site, a law enforcement source said.
“I turned around just as she was about 3 feet off the ground and then, boom, she hit,” said witness Ahmed Saad, 22, who was manning a nearby halal food cart.
Dubbed “fashion’s muse of the moment” by the Sunday Times of London in 2005, Korshunova distinguished herself with locks of hair that once draped down to her thighs.
She was often photographed with her mane cascading around her.
Long hair is a symbol of beauty in Kazakhstan, where she was born in the then-capital city of Almaty on July 2, 1987.
“She was like an angel,” Titeneva said. “She was just working, working, working.”
The friend said Korshunova had recently returned from spending a few weeks in Paris and did not appear troubled.
A doorman at her 12-story building - where Korshunova lived for months in a studio converted into a one-bedroom - said the model seemed happy when she came home about 4 a.m. Saturday.
“She came in this morning, she smiled, no sense of depression,” said Mahmoud Nakeeb, 45. “She was a very sweet girl, always smiling, never depressed-looking.”
Nakeeb said the green-eyed Korshunova was very down-to-earth, often dressed in simple pants and shorts. He had no clue she was an international model. “I feel bad,” he said. “My heart is broken.”
Korshunova’s elite modeling agency, IMG, was grappling with the tragedy last night and gathering information about her death and work schedule.
“We’re shocked and our heart goes out to her family,” said spokesman Zach Eichman.
The nearly 5-foot-9 model’s interest in German led to her discovery in 2003. A journalist from All Asia magazine visited her German language club and featured her photo in a story, according to an article in Continent, a Kazakh magazine.
During a flight, booker Debbie Jones of Models 1 spotted her picture in the magazine and called the article’s author for help in tracking Korshunova.
“I saw her by chance and she looked like something out of a fairy tale!” Jones told British Vogue. “We had to find her and we searched high and low until we did! She’s really incredible, with feline features and timeless beauty.”

He was one of the models of the week at models.com, and I was super excited for him being one of the two black models in the CK Mens Collection in Milano. Anywho, he hasn't done too much, except for the runways, but I hope there is an editorial, or a campaign with his name on it. I hope for Versace, but IDK about Donnatella, since she really isn't talking to anybody right now.

Yes guys, it is that time (well, it was that time), and I didn't properly cover this season, because I pretty much didn't care about menswear fashion week like I used to last year, S/S 2008. I do have to say though, that one of my favorite designers, Dsquared² , showed this morning (in Milano), and I have to say, they really took diversity to heart (yay, Vogue Italia!). A Dooney & Bourke Ad, a spread in Teen Vogue, and the face of some beauty products.

I am trying so hard to like it, but the more I watch this extended preview, the more I see the trainwreck it will become. I'm so confused on why Elle is trying to be a reputable fashion magazine, but is the first magazine to accept being a reality show prize. Take a page from the Wintour and respectfully decline, this mess is only good for Seventeen, and probably inStyle. So anywho, if you want to see this mess, then watch the clip, but oy, if you are fashionable (not trendy, ewww) then you will not like this, just saying.

Firstly, I love this tagline. It is uber cute, and I had a bit of a chuckle when I read it. However that is the only thing cute about this ad. Apparently, this has been out since April (my first time seeing this) and I have to say, Crocs must be going through some tough times, because this is just hideously ugly, so far past fug. I went to the Crocs site, and saw that this 4 inch heel retails for $50.00. Really? This should be worth about $10 if that much. Shame on you Crocs for trying to be fashionable. You can find other shoes that looks loads better for $50.00.

Let me first say that I love Cole! He is pretty much awesome! I love that he snagged both Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs (menswear and womenswear campaigns). This is amazing. Hopefully this doesn't become a trend, and hopefully next season we can dismiss Juergen Teller, and bring in another photographer, like Miesel, or Klein. I'm just saying. I can deal with Teller for this particular campaign, but let's do something else for next campaign. I mean, a 12 year old can do these shots! Well, we digress, back to the ads. He apparently found a new muse with a blogger, a Mr. Bryanboy.

10 Spontaneous Thoughts On Vogue Italia July 2008

1. The big win is for Major's Sessilee Lopez. A cover, beautiful pictures and a on-the-record endorsement from Mr Meisel. She deserves all that!

2.Its very modern and very shrewd of Sozzanni and company to harness the passion and interest of internet fashion fans by pre-releasing the cover (virtually unheard of for VI) as well as a select group of images. TI bets newstand sales are going to be in-sane.

3.Edward Enninful's email quotes on Horn's "On The Runway" blog were amazing. This dispells for me the sentiment by some that this shoot was a cynical gesture.

4.The timing of the PR push is very interesting. Enough said LOL.

5.Oddly enough I cannot wait to see those Toccara Jones snaps

6. It was very real on Ms Sozzani's part to point out that Noemie's Vogue Paris cover wasn't supported by an inside ediitorial. Interesting enough the Hiss Squad told me Iman recently booked a Vogue Paris gig.

7.From Vogue Paris to US Vogue to Vogue Italia, Conde Nast editors are playing market leaders on that issue of diversity. It will be interesting to see the echo effect at other magazine groups but more importantly the advertiser response.

8. Which evokes the question made explicit by Horn, "Can black models sell (luxury) in 2008?" Two very powerful photographers, Nick Knight and Steven Meisel have gone on the record to say they are discouraged by clients from casting black models.

9. TI loves seeing Ashley Brokaw in the media spotlight.

10. Wonder who's the August VI cover. Hiss Squad alert!

Miuccia Prada released to WWD a preview of her fall Prada campaign featuring Linda Evangelista dressed in a collection strong on lace and sly gender plays. "We imagined her so beautiful in this collection," the Italian designer said. Steven Meisel photographed Evangelista in a New York studio last April, with Guido Palau in charge of hair and Pat McGrath the makeup. The campaign will first appear in the August issue of Vogue Italia, on newsstands July 4.

Yes guys, if you don't know, it is resort season. (So you didn't know we have about six fashion seasons?) Oh well, I get really excited with two fashion week seasons, resort and spring/summer. This season's resort styles stayed with the F/W 2008 color scheme, continued color blocking, kept prints, but this time went back to I think S/S 2007 with headbands. I personally loved the headband theme (especially Prada's headband!). My absolute favorite resort show was Diane von Furstenberg. This lady really knows her stuff! (I wish I was related to her). She showed in Florence, Italy, and the setting was beautiful, very old world garden. Anywho, enough of me talking, I picked, out of 61 pieces I picked 26 that stood out the most to me.

Toccara just ONE UP'D Tyrant!

Firstly, put this in your hair weave Tyrant, but Toccara (our favorite resident plus-size model from ANTM Cycle 3) shot with the Miesel for Italian Vogue July 2008's Ethnicity Issue, dubbed famously as, Vogue Noir. OMG! How do we feel about this? Apparently, she will be shot in fur and lingerie for this issue. I think Miesel doesn't like Tyrant either, because out of all the black models (supermodels at that), no one called Tyrant. And don't believe the bullsh!t of her being retired, because she is STILL represented by D Management Group, and she is still looking foolish. And I bet she bought a "When-Miesel-Calls-Me-For-A-Photoshoot" Wig.

I really love Chloé, and the designs this fashion house spits out is just brilliant. Each one of their designs are 100% wearable, and might I say, very frilly and amazing. I get sort of a Parisian vibe from it (maybe because it is French Fashion House). Anywho, I was searching for some of the latest ads from Chloé, and I forgot that they did three ads for their parfums, one with Anja Rubik (who is perfect), Clemence Poesy (the French "it" Girl), and Chloë Sevigny (Actress who is amazing). I love all three of their ads, but I do love Clemence's the best.

I'll say this first, TYRANT, YOU ARE TOO OLD! Anywho, I'm reading my favorite fashion news, and I read that TYRANT insulted Karlie during the Jill Stuart Show during Feb. Fashion Week in NY. We all know that Karlie does her signature death zombie stare, and head bob, but as Karlie was passing by Tyrant (who was in the front row), Tyrant began mimicing her walk to a friend, and they laugh insanely during the show! Then she taps Nigel Barker who was behind her, and did the same mockery, and Nigel just shook his head. Shame on you TYRANT! Why don't you like her?! Is that she is High Fashion, while you were Commercial? Or is it that she can pose her ass off @ 15 against your 30 year old body? Or is the fact she didn't smile enough behind the eyes?!

So, I'm looking @ models.com (my regular site browsing) and I stumbled on Agnete and I immediately said "OMG, SHE LOOKS LIKE LAUREN FROM ANTM 10!" I just watched the preview for Stylista, the CW's fashion-reality show based on "The Devil Wears Prada". All I have to say is YIKES! We all know that ANTM is Model Career Suicide (right Adrienne Curry, Yoanna House, Naimawho?, and countless others!), so it is no surprised that the career executioner, Tyrant Banks, and her flock of has-beens designed this show with one of the blandest fashion magazines to date "Elle". (Have you noticed that if you win a fashion based reality show, one of your prizes have something to do with Elle? Like Project Runway, and vintage ANTM?) Anywho, I am watching this preview, and all I can say was shame on Mr. Myers for first of all letting Anne Slowey out of the house, and lastly giving her free reign to make a mockery on that poor poor magazine (I'm seeing Elle becoming the next Jane Magazine). Now Madam Wintour is so sick of this randomosity of the fashion world mixed with reality tv sickness! In an interview last night, Ms. Devil Wears Prada herself pursed her lips at the meer thought of Stylista and if she wants a Vogue reality show. Now I don't care for US Vogue, but I commend Dame Wintour for not going unfashionably tacky and doing this reality show. What would Andre Leon think?
