Vogue Noir!! Part 2.3

Sessilee Lopez's VOGUE NOIR COVER!

I love this cover so much! I am happy that it isn't a fold out, and each model has their own cover. I know I'm getting Sessilee's!

Black Covergirl for August VI?

I'm looking @ TheImagist.com, and under the post for Vogue Noir's Issue, lies 10 Spontaneous Thoughts.
10 Spontaneous Thoughts On Vogue Italia July 2008

1. The big win is for Major's Sessilee Lopez. A cover, beautiful pictures and a on-the-record endorsement from Mr Meisel. She deserves all that!

2.Its very modern and very shrewd of Sozzanni and company to harness the passion and interest of internet fashion fans by pre-releasing the cover (virtually unheard of for VI) as well as a select group of images. TI bets newstand sales are going to be in-sane.

3.Edward Enninful's email quotes on Horn's "On The Runway" blog were amazing. This dispells for me the sentiment by some that this shoot was a cynical gesture.

4.The timing of the PR push is very interesting. Enough said LOL.

5.Oddly enough I cannot wait to see those Toccara Jones snaps

6. It was very real on Ms Sozzani's part to point out that Noemie's Vogue Paris cover wasn't supported by an inside ediitorial. Interesting enough the Hiss Squad told me Iman recently booked a Vogue Paris gig.

7.From Vogue Paris to US Vogue to Vogue Italia, Conde Nast editors are playing market leaders on that issue of diversity. It will be interesting to see the echo effect at other magazine groups but more importantly the advertiser response.

8. Which evokes the question made explicit by Horn, "Can black models sell (luxury) in 2008?" Two very powerful photographers, Nick Knight and Steven Meisel have gone on the record to say they are discouraged by clients from casting black models.

9. TI loves seeing Ashley Brokaw in the media spotlight.

10. Wonder who's the August VI cover. Hiss Squad alert!
Let's think, it is anyone that is in the Vogue Noir issue is going to be on the cover for August. I have a few specualtions. I know it isn't Iman, since she is already doing something for Vogue Paris for August. (Probably a YSL tribute issue) I have my suspicions that is may either be Chanel Iman (since she didn't get it for July), or Sessilee again. I secretly want Sabina on the cover. I really want her on a cover of a high fashion magazine! (she reminds me of a young Stacey McKenzie)

VOGUE NOIR! Part Un

Okay, it is OUT! IT IS OUT! IT IS OUT! VOGUE ITALIA JULY 2008 AKA VOGUE NOIR!

4 FUCKING COVERS!

(left to right: Liya Kebede, Sesilee Lopez, Jourdan Dunn, and Naomi Campbell)

Okay, also, I may want to retract what I previously said about Tyrant. Okay Tyrant, I guess Miesel did like you, and look @ you in Vogue Noir! I love your photo bunches. But you are still an evil Tyrant. So far, here are the photos from inside!

Washed-out Fashion Industry?

So went to P.F. Changs with some Fashionably Chic Friends (FCFs) and I was talking to one of them about whether or not this industry is racist. I mean, DUH! It is, but not as much as it used to be as we think about it, but with the anticipation of Vogue Noir, the other Vogues are taking notice to our ethnic models, particularly Arlenis (who is drop dead gorgeous, look @ the pics), Jourdan, and Channel. In July 08 issue of US Vogue, the three "it" ethnic girls all discuss whether or not this fashion industry is racist, and all took their editorial photos with Annie Leibovitz.

Toccara just ONE UP'D Tyrant!

Firstly, put this in your hair weave Tyrant, but Toccara (our favorite resident plus-size model from ANTM Cycle 3) shot with the Miesel for Italian Vogue July 2008's Ethnicity Issue, dubbed famously as, Vogue Noir. OMG! How do we feel about this? Apparently, she will be shot in fur and lingerie for this issue. I think Miesel doesn't like Tyrant either, because out of all the black models (supermodels at that), no one called Tyrant. And don't believe the bullsh!t of her being retired, because she is STILL represented by D Management Group, and she is still looking foolish. And I bet she bought a "When-Miesel-Calls-Me-For-A-Photoshoot" Wig.

Now whose pissed Tyrant? You better smile behind the eyes more.
ha.
I'm glad for Toccara, at least it wasn't Saleisha looking foolish.

The Color of Noir.

Ladies and Gentlemen! If you don't know: For the July 2008 Issue of Vogue Italia, there will be featuring only NON-WHITE MODELS! That means Channel dust off the pumps; Alek use extra body gloss, and Iman just be Iman, because you guys are taking over the magazine! Thanks to our friend in our head, Steven Miesel, he heard an upcoming top model's rant of their are more than white in London! (Thanks Jourdan Dunn). So far there have been a few confirms, and so far it looks like Jourdan Dunn is going to grace the cover! However, I find it a bit hypocritical when you go years rarely putting black models on covers and editorials, but you are going to use 30 black models in one issue, and the next issue go back to ZERO. Where is the diversity in that, Franca Sozzani?
